Lost Dh76,000 on New Year’s Eve in Dubai, Tourist Reunited with Missing Money in 30 Minutes by Police

Tourist Reunited A Dubai tourist faced an unexpected turn of events after New Year’s Eve celebrations, losing over Dh76,000 in a taxi. However, thanks to the swift response of the Dubai Police, the entire amount was recovered within just 30 minutes.

Shortly after the New Year festivities, the tourist contacted the Dubai Police at 2 am, reporting the loss of his bag in a taxi. The bag contained substantial sums in both dollars and dirhams, totaling $17,000 and Dh14,000, respectively.

Efficient Police Operation: Tourist Reunited

Upon receiving the report, the Dubai Police initiated a rapid operation to locate the missing money. Within minutes, they successfully identified the taxi and communicated with the driver to facilitate the return of the lost money pouch.

The tourist utilized the Dubai Police Tourist Service on the Dubai Police app to report the loss, enabling a streamlined and efficient process for recovery.

Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of Dubai Tourist Police, commended the taxi driver for his honesty and prompt assistance in returning the money to the tourist.
