Al-Futtaim Toyota will showcase its pioneering environmental technology at one of the largest events in the world. The new generation Toyota Mirai debuted in the UAE as the official car of the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The cutting-edge fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) powered by hydrogen provides a 100% electric driving experience with first-class efficiency and zero emissions, highlighting Toyota’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality and creating sustainable mobility for all.

As a model of craftsmanship and innovation, the most advanced Toyota Mirai arrived at the Japan Pavilion at a special delivery ceremony held recently. The new generation of vehicles will provide the staff of the Japan Pavilion with excellent mobility solutions throughout the highly anticipated event, which has been attracting a large number of visitors since its opening in early October.

Toyota’s flagship sedan Mirai is a rear-wheel-drive sporty luxury FCEV that combines eye-catching design, cutting-edge technology and excellent driving performance. Mirai’s advanced technology enables vehicles to use on-board fuel cells to generate electricity on their own. The FCEV technology was first developed by Toyota in 1992. It converts hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy to provide power to the electric motor, and only produces water as a by-product, achieving zero emissions. The new generation Mirai provides a leading endurance of 650 kilometers in its class, and it only takes 3 to 5 minutes to refuel. Its electric motor can generate 134 kW of torque and generate responsive acceleration, which can accelerate the vehicle from 40 km/h to 70 km/h in 2.8 seconds.
