The customs authorities issued a reminder on Twitter today.
Tourists and expats flocked to the UAE, which eased Covid restrictions on travel to all destinations.
The Federal Customs Authority reiterated that there is no limit to the amount of cash that passengers can carry when travelling to and from the UAE. However, if the passenger is carrying Dh60,000 or more or the equivalent in other currencies, the amount must be declared to the customs officer.
The customs authorities issued a reminder on Twitter on Thursday, September 16.
Dubai Customs said earlier this month that certain items brought into Dubai by passengers are exempt from customs duties. These include personal gifts worth AED 3,000; up to 400 cigarettes; 50 cigars; and 500 grams of tobacco. Anything higher than these is subject to tariffs.
