Travis Scott is coming to Salt Lake City.
Multi-platinum rapper Scott has teamed up with Utah Jazz parent company Smiths Entertainment to design a series of dynamic events for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.
The event Scott has created, which will be launched by his record label and label Cactus Jack, will offer fans who gather in downtown Salt Lake City an incredible experience beyond the basketball court. This curated program will allow locals and visitors from around the world to experience the vibrancy of All-Star Weekend, a global event beloved by many.
“It’s a dream of mine to work with Smith Entertainment Group and the Utah Jazz to create an iconic experience on a canvas like Salt Lake City — especially during a time like All-Star Weekend,” Scott said. “I love Utah and have been coming here to ski for years. Salt Lake City is definitely going to be where everyone wants to be.”
For Jazz owner Ryan Smith, the opportunity to work with someone as creative and respected as Scott couldn’t be passed up.
“Travis has a unique vision that has made him one of the most sought-after artists in the world, and we are thrilled that he is bringing his creativity to Utah,” said Smith. “We’re so excited to be partnering with him on these events, which will help even more fans and the community get involved in an amazing All-Star Weekend celebration.”
The weekend-long partnership includes the Cactus Jack Concert Series; the Grit Rail Jam, presented by the Utah Athletic Commission, the Utah Jazz and the Cactus Jacks; and the Cactus Jacks pop-up store.
Cactus Jack Concert Series: Kicking off at The Depot at Gateway Center, Scott has assembled an incredible roster of artists for an intimate concert series on the evening of February 17th and 18th. Don Toliver and Sheck Wes will kick off the party on Friday night, while Chase B is the concert series DJ. The Cactus Jack concert series is limited to 1,200 guests per night, starts at 8 p.m. and costs $150 per night.Tickets are sold in the following ways storehouse Starts Friday, February 3rd.
GRIT Rail Jam, presented by the Utah Athletic Commission, Utah Jazz and Cactus Jacks: Free for all ages, the Grit Rail Jam competition is a fantastic opportunity for fans who want to enjoy the energy of the All-Star Weekend festivities. Scott was heavily involved in the creation and setup of the competition, working with professional snowboarder and businessman Jeremy Jones to recruit a large number of athletes for the two-day snowboard competition, including Scott’s friends – Jake Canter and Zeb Powell. The two-day event will attract some of the best professional and amateur snowboarders in the country looking to master the bars, walls and ledges at Olympic Park at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. The amateur snowboard competition will be held on Friday, February 17th from 2pm to 5pm, with the winning top men’s and women’s snowboarders clearing the way for the next day’s professional competition. A professional snowboard competition is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, from 3 to 6 p.m., and Scott is expected to attend.
Cactus Jack pop-up shop: As part of The Shop Salt Lake City – an innovative pop-up retail event taking place at The Gateway – Scott’s Cactus Jack collection has teamed up with Mitchell and Ness to unveil exclusive products throughout the week of the event. New items will be added every day, starting February 16th and continuing until February 19th. The store, which will be located at 16 N. Rio Grande, will be open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
