TriYAS Challenge will return to Yas Marina Circuit on March 12, 2022

Organizers announced that TriYASChallenge 2022 will be held on its 12th Saturday 12 yearsthMarch 2022.

The landmark fitness event held annually at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi is now open for registration in 12 categories, encouraging athletes to get out, enjoy the outdoors, and ‘Make it a reality’.

As the year marks 12th Competitors can now pre-register to test their fitness abilities in three categories of the triathlon, with participants completing swimming, cycling and running to wrap up their grueling fitness test Sanya Challenge.

The 2022 event features 12 different categories, including the return of the popular Duathlon Sprint, including a 5km run and a 21km bike ride, followed by a final 2.5km run to cross the finish line.

Entrants can choose to register and compete individually in the Sprint, Olympic or Super Sprint categories. Or, if the athlete prefers to finish as a team, there are sprint team relays or Olympic team relays to choose from, making sure to compete in a variety of categories.

The 2022 event will feature a mixed relay race for the first time, with men and women competing against each other on a 375m swim and 5km bike, with all four competitors on the team finishing with a 1500m run.

There will also be a junior triathlon for athletes aged 12 to 16, including a 200m swim, a 9.9km bike ride and a 2.5km run. These events, combined with a traditional triathlon, where elite athletes swim over 750M, ride 20KM and finish in 5KM, will provide opportunities for athletes of all ages and fitness levels to participate.

The 2021 TriYAS event is the most attended event in the history of the event, with more than 1,050 entrants in 9 categories, and the upcoming 2022 event is expected to grow even further as the sport continues to grow in the UAE.

Participants must receive two doses of the UAE-approved Covid-19 vaccine, and a green pass is available on the Al Hosn app. Negative PCR test results within 96 hours can be admitted.
