The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) and Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Professionals (AJP) have confirmed that the AJP Tour UAE National Professional Championship will return to the UAE capital next month. The two-day competition, open to all countries, will take place at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena from September 3-4.
Opening day will begin with the Junior, Junior and Masters categories, while the second day will feature amateur and professional competitions.
Tournaments become even more important as they are included in the annual classification of AJP Tour Ranking Points. The first place in each category will receive 1,000 points, which are crucial for international players, their global classification and their progression up the annual ranking ladder.
Fahad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of JJF UAE, said: “The AJP Tour UAE National Professional Championship is one of the most important tournaments on the calendar, attracting a lot of local and international participation. It also tends to highlight emerging and emerging players as they begin their careers. young talent and is an important tributary to the national team as it raises the level of local athletes.
“This year’s competition comes at an opportune time to allow players to prepare for important international competitions, including the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in October and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships in November.
“This competition will bring together the strongest players representing countries with a long history in the sport, such as Brazil, Colombia, UAE, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Angola, Sweden, etc.”
AJP General Manager Tariq Al Bahri said his organisation’s partnership with UAEJJF has proven to be mutually beneficial, leading to an increase in the number of events, improved standards and great success in terms of attendance both regionally and globally.
“UAE National Pro is a local event of international standard that attracts the brightest minds from around the world,” he said. “Players are eagerly awaiting the game as it is considered one of the most important games the league has organized in the 2022 calendar.
