Two Atlanta police officers were given unpaid leave after the video showed the sheriff kicking a woman in the head

After a video showed a police officer and a police officer kicking a man in the head, the Atlanta Police Department has given a police officer and a police officer to take unpaid leave. The now viral video prompted Chief Rodney Bryant to open and investigate the actions of all police officers present.

According to a report from Atlanta Fox 5, the police are responding to reports that a woman pointed a gun at several people in Renmin Town. The footage of the incident showed that the woman was handcuffed to the floor before seeing the sergeant involved kicking her.

“After viewing the video, the police officer’s behavior appeared to be unacceptable, and we were also concerned that another police officer who was present during the incident was obviously lacking in response,” a statement from APD read. “It was decided to immediately dismiss the police officers and police officers from their duties, and to suspend the police officers without pay.”

This video posted on the Unsencored Instagram page in Atlanta appeared to show the woman spitting in the direction of the police officer, who responded by placing her feet on her face. The identity of the sergeant has not been announced.

A statement from the department read: “The behavior of the people in the video appears to exceed our standards and training.” “However, it is important for the Professional Standards Office to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the facts surrounding this incident. Director Bryant will Monitor the progress of this rapid investigation and review the results of the investigation to determine the correct course of action.”

Gerald Griggs, vice chairman of the Association for the Advancement of National Colors in Atlanta, called for the termination of officials.

“We think that the final punishment, termination should happen. But we do think that other officials should also be severely punished.”
