After a video showed a police officer and a police officer kicking a man in the head, the Atlanta Police Department has given a police officer and a police officer to take unpaid leave. This video posted on the Unsencored Instagram page in Atlanta appeared to show the woman spitting in the direction of the police officer, who responded by placing her feet on her face. The identity of the sergeant has not been announced.
A statement from the department read: “The behavior of the people in the video appears to exceed our standards and training.” “However, it is important for the Professional Standards Office to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the facts surrounding this incident. Gerald Griggs, vice chairman of the Association for the Advancement of National Colors in Atlanta, called for the termination of officials.
“We think that the final punishment, termination should happen. But we do think that other officials should also be severely punished.”
