Amenities include a splash park, skate park, bike paths, laser tag and paintball…
Modon properties – the team behind the transformation of Hudayriyat Island, Jubail Mangrove Park and Mina Zayed – has just opened two linked eco-friendly leisure destinations in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra area.
Now open to the public, the inauguration of Mugheirah Bay and Mamsha Al Mugheirah was overseen by District Representative His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed.
You’ll find the green, tranquil Al Mugheirah project about 150 kilometers west of Abu Dhabi’s city center, and quite conveniently, in a luxurious new Bab Al Nojoum Luxury Camping. Complete the AirStream Camping Opportunity for a steampunk-style staycation.

The 12-hectare Mugheirah Bay portion of the development brings to picnic tables: 15 restaurants and eateries, a “multipurpose gaming and retail centre”, and an events lawn.
But its recreational facilities may represent the biggest draw, with a splash park; skate park; outdoor gym; bike trails; basketball, soccer and volleyball courts; and laser tag and paintball centers, too.

Mamsha Al Mugheirah is the ‘into nature’ element of the project. It includes a stunning two kilometer boardwalk through the mangroves, linking Bab Al Nojoum, Al Mugheirah Resort and Mugheirah Bay. Stunning expansive ocean views, a full viewing tower and an education center offer privileged access to this stunning landscape and the chance to spot some of its inhabitants, such as the black heron and the enigmatic, majestic dugong.
