U.S. sends B-52 bombers to Afghanistan to try to stop Taliban attacks-News

[ad_1]

Fierce fighting broke out in Kunduz City.

US President Joe Biden has ordered B-52 bombers and ghost gunships to target Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan, who are advancing to three major cities.

The Cold War strategic bomber first flew in the 1950s, but it is still in use due to its 70,000 lb payload and a range of more than 8,000 miles.

According to the “Daily Mail” report, they are supported by AC-130 Spectre gunships, which are equipped with 25mm Gatling guns, 40mm Bofors cannons and 105mm M102 cannons, which can provide precise Aerial shooting.

According to reports, the targets of B-52 and AC-130 are insurgents near Kandahar, Herat and Rashkar Ghar in Helmand Province.

The report stated that the US Air Force continued to assist the Afghan Air Force in bombing Taliban targets in southern Helmand Province and Kandahar Province because Afghan security forces tried to prevent the Taliban from taking over.

After the coalition led by the United States withdrew from this war-torn country, the Taliban have been advancing across Afghanistan, allowing the country’s struggling national defense forces to deal with the insurgents.

At the same time, officials and AFP reporters reported that the Afghan army and the Taliban fought fiercely in the center of Kunduz, the main provincial capital, on Sunday.

Kunduz Provincial Council member Amruddin Wali told AFP: “Intense street fighting is taking place in different areas of the city. Some security forces have withdrawn to the airport.”

On Saturday, the Taliban and Afghan security forces clashed in Kunduz, killing 11 civilians and wounding more than 40 others.
