During this time, the UAE is known for its lavish New Year’s Eve celebrations and exorbitant hotel and restaurant prices. With record-breaking fireworks and breathtaking views, tourists from all over the world come to the UAE for everything luxurious, unique and experiential.

Some hotels in Dubai charged almost Dh260,000 during this period. “There is no better place to welcome the new year than the UAE,” said a spokesman for one of the country’s leading travel agencies. “Whether it’s the best fireworks or the best food, one can get it all in the UAE. That’s why people fly to the country from all over the world to celebrate this special event.”

With so many festivities happening across the country, where can UAE residents go to enjoy the best fireworks? KT lists 10 of the best places in the country to enjoy fireworks.

Burj Khalifa: The most popular fireworks in the UAE remain those from the tallest tower in the world. The show, which took months to plan and was produced by teams from around the world, is a spectacle like no other. Involving more than 150,000 kilograms of fireworks, more than 10,000 discharge instructions, and more than 250 lamps. There are several vantage points around the city for the Burj Khalifa fireworks, which will begin at the stroke of midnight.

Atlantis: The spectacular fireworks at Atlantis, The Palm broke two world records in 2021, showcasing the tallest and largest number of flame projections in a concert. Residents and visitors can watch the fireworks from the Palm Jumeirah boardwalk or choose to dine at any of The Pointe’s waterside restaurants. This year, international pop star Kylie Minogue will headline the New Year’s Eve dinner at Atlantis, The Palm.

International Village: This year, the shopping destination will host seven festivities to coincide with midnights around the world. New Years festivities kick off at 8pm local time, which coincides with midnight in the Philippines, before heading to Thailand (9pm), Bangladesh (10pm), India (10.30pm), Pakistan (11pm) , the UAE (12am) and finally ends in Turkey (1am). Every midnight will have its own dedicated countdown and iconic Global Village fireworks display.

Dubai Festival City: Fireworks at Dubai Festival City will be accompanied by a unique laser, fire and water show IMAGINE. The spectacle will be streamed live online and can be viewed at one of the restaurants on the waterfront or at the open space near the Mohammed bin Rashid Library.

sea: Take in the dazzling fireworks while enjoying fun family activities at beachside destinations. There are several restaurants and children’s play areas to choose from, and visitors can enjoy the spectacular pyrotechnics in a relaxed atmosphere.

Alsef: Start the new year off with some of Dubai’s old-world charm at Al Seef’s heritage district. Set against the backdrop of the traditional dhows that dot the Dubai Creek, the fireworks at this location are particularly captivating. When the bell rings in 2023, visitors can head to any of the waterfront restaurants or shop at the hundreds of shops that line the bazaar.

Ras Al Khaimah: The brightest fireworks display of the year appears to be in Ras Al Khaimah. The emirate’s tourism board and the organizing committee of the New Year’s celebrations will hold a musical fireworks display in an attempt to break two Guinness World Records. This is one not to be missed.

Emirates Palace: Known for its spectacular New Year’s fireworks displays, this year’s ultra-luxe Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is no exception. Visitors can choose to stay in front row seats at the hotel to watch the fireworks, or reserve a table for a lavish gala dinner featuring musicians and unique entertainment.

Al Maria Island: Residents of Abu Dhabi can enjoy a wonderful display of colors at Al Maryah Island. To view the fireworks for free, visitors can line up along the boardwalk. Those looking for a special experience also have the option to book a table at any of the restaurants on the terrace. There is also the option to watch the fireworks on giant screens throughout the area.

Yas Island: This year, the skies above Yas Island will burst into color twice on NYE night, as the venue plans to host two fireworks displays. Fireworks planned for 9pm and midnight will mark a colorful start to 2023. Families can choose to dine at one of the restaurants in the shopping and leisure destination.
