Three Asians have been sentenced to a year in prison by the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court for attempting to steal from a villa under construction. They will be deported after serving their sentences.
The attempted theft was discovered when the property’s Gulf state owner received a message on his mobile phone via a surveillance camera at the scene
A man in the Gulf country discovered that the target of the theft was a villa he was building when he received a message from a surveillance camera about unusual activity at the site.
He notified the police, and the thief was arrested by Ras Al Khaimah police and handed over to the public prosecution.
The criminals were charged with attempting to steal the wires.
The plaintiff claimed that his mobile phone received a notification that he was building a villa. Video transmissions on mobile phones showed the two accused trying to divert power lines from his villa to a neighboring home.
He then went to the house and arrested them on the spot, but the assailants dropped the goods and fled the scene as soon as they saw him. The shopkeeper tried to catch up with them, but couldn’t. During that time, while the first defendant was waiting for other gang members, he saw a parked car. The three quickly got into the car and fled the scene.
