In 2022, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has approximately 38 million passengers using various public transport services, including intercity buses, taxis and airport vehicles.

Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, chairman of SRTA, said taxi services and franchise companies in the emirate benefited 29 million passengers, while public transport bus services benefited some 5.3 million passengers, with an average of 14,500 passengers per day. They are transported by 98 buses on 12 routes, making 437 stops.

In addition, about 3.6 million passengers benefited from intercity bus services in the past year. As for airport flight passengers, the total number of beneficiaries in 2022 will reach about 335,000.

He emphasized that the authorities use all their capabilities to encourage passengers to use public transport in the emirate, providing peace of mind and comfort to passengers by developing the public transport fleet and providing it with up-to-date mechanisms and vehicles that meet standards and international specifications. By. He also confirmed the authorities’ keenness to manage safer flights and high-quality services to ensure smooth and flexible access by the public.

Al Othmani said the fleet of buses and delivery vehicles distributed across the emirate’s cities and regions recorded around 20 million trips across various modes of mass transport on the emirate’s public transport network. The total number of airport vehicles is 485,972, with an average of 1,330 passengers per day, 154 vehicles, and 222,432 intercity buses.
