Authorities urge motorists to obey rules to ensure safety and prevent accidents

Abu Dhabi Police has shared five rules motorists must follow when merging from small roads to main roads to avoid accidents.

The five rules are as follows:

1. Slow down when approaching an intersection

2. Use the blinker

3. Give way to vehicles on the main road

4. Make sure there are no vehicles on the road before merging

5. If there is a car parked in front, park behind it first.Proceed to merge onto the main road only after it has moved and the road is clear

Authorities often share helpful videos and tips to raise awareness of the rules to follow to keep roads safe.
