The four-month Sheikh Zayed Festival 2022-23, which will feature more than 4,000 events and a weekly fireworks display, will begin on November 18, the festival’s senior organizing committee has announced.
In the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Under the direction, the festival will be held in Al Wathba.
Under the slogan “UAE: United Civilizations”, Al Wathba’s festival aims to promote the UAE’s heritage and elevate Abu Dhabi’s status as a top tourist and cultural destination.
Through March 18, 2023, there will be 750 public performances, fun-filled events and performances ranging from heritage conservation, education to entertainment.
The festival will include the popular fountain show, fireworks, laser show, joint parade, National Day and New Year’s Eve celebrations, as well as a global parade, the Al Wathba bespoke show and more.
Named after the late UAE Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the festival attracts visitors and participation from all over the world.
The festival offers all visitors the opportunity to learn about Emirati civilization and culture through authentic customs and traditions. It sheds light on Sheikh Zayed’s role and his building of country and home through a host of events, performances and events including folklore performances, live music and a traditional handicraft market. Several new activations will be announced in the coming days.
