A 36-year-old accountant who works for a contracting company was ordered to return an amount equivalent to the wages of six employees who had been garnished.
A manager of the company filed a lawsuit against him, saying she gave him Dh25,350 to be deposited into the company’s bank account. However, he took the money for himself and refused to return it even when asked kindly.
Evidence submitted by the plaintiffs indicated that the accountant signed a document stating that he received the money to pay employees. She also submitted the workers’ names and the value of their wages.
The Ras Al Khaimah Section Civil Court issued a judgment ordering the accused to pay the plaintiff Dh25,350 and ordering him to pay the costs and expenses of the proceedings.
