Adnoc Gas said on Monday it had awarded contracts worth $1.34 billion (Dh4.9 billion) to Petrofac Emirates and a consortium of Petroleum Construction Corporation and CAT International Ltd. to expand its gas pipeline network.
The new pipeline will extend ADNOC’s existing pipeline network from approximately 3,200 kilometers to more than 3,500 kilometers, enabling more gas to be delivered to customers in the northern UAE. This strategic pipeline expansion will drive further growth for Adnoc Gas as it continues to provide a sustainable supply of gas in the UAE, supporting the company’s strategy to increase market share and expand its customer base.
Ahmed Mohamed Alebri, Chief Executive Officer of Adnoc Gas, said: “Our strategic network expansion will bring the advantages of low-cost, sustainable and clean gas to the world by enhancing industrial access to gas. Gas is a cost-competitive and easy-to-use gas to more locations in the UAE. Low carbon intensive fuel. The expanded pipeline will boost Abu Dhabi Gas and shareholders as we fulfill our mission to achieve gas self-sufficiency in the UAE further growth.”
As part of Adnoc’s Domestic Value (ICV) initiative, which aims to enhance local value chains in the UAE by encouraging local manufacturing and supporting local industry, more than 70% of contract value is expected to flow back into the UAE economy.
