DUBAI, Sept 1 (Reuters) – The United Arab Emirates aims to finalize a free trade agreement with Turkey in the next few weeks, about four months after negotiations start, the UAE trade minister said on Thursday.
“We aim to finalize #UAETurkiyeCEPA in the coming weeks and forge deeper and more meaningful trade and investment ties with one of the region’s most important economies,” tweeted Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dao, retweeted a post by his Turkish counterpart.
“We discussed the status of ongoing Turkey-UAE #CEPA negotiations and the steps taken to finalize the agreement,” Turkish Trade Minister Mohamed Moose said on Twitter.
The UAE is pursuing a number of bilateral free trade agreements, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and signed trade pacts with India, Israel and Indonesia this year.
