Food aid from the UAE is delivered in small boats, the only way to reach residents of villages engulfed by heavy rains and floods.
Residents of Galala Village expressed their gratitude to the UAE.
In the village of “Al-Dabakaria Al-Bahr” in the Al-Salam district of White Nile State, Emirates News Agency met some Sudanese citizens who were assisted by the UAE.
They expressed their gratitude to the UAE leaders and people for their assistance.
Ali Al-Noor Rahma said torrential rains and floods swept the village and neighbouring villages, destroying crops.
He added that the UAE’s aid brings hope to those afflicted by the humanitarian crisis. Families without shelter or food are isolated.
Mahdi Ali Muhammad said: “The floods swept us, destroying everything, houses and crops, and cutting off roads until we were completely cut off and people suffered from mosquitoes and disease. We thank the Emirates Red Crescent Society for the right time. Brought us good luck and relieved us.”
Fatima Mohammad Ahmed added: “The floods come and so does the destruction. Even agriculture was not immune to the devastation of the torrent, which took us by surprise and left us homeless. All houses were demolished. We thank the UAE for standing with us to ease our pain. “
Meanwhile, Issa Muhammad Al-Hajj said: “Floods and rains have destroyed everything, affected our lives. Houses and farmland, and caused the spread of mosquitoes. We are in a difficult situation. We thank the Emirates Red Crescent Society for their We extended a helping hand.”
