In a significant milestone, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Azerbaijan recently convened their first consular consultation meeting, which was held at the esteemed headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was chaired by Faisal Lutfi, the distinguished Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically responsible for Consular Affairs, and his counterpart, Emil Safarov, who holds the esteemed position of Head of the Consular Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan
Faisal Lutfi took the opportunity to convey warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the esteemed Minister of Foreign Affairs. He expressed sincere appreciation for the longstanding and deeply rooted consular relationship between the two nations. Additionally, he emphasized the UAE’s unwavering enthusiasm to bolster its ties with Azerbaijan in line with the visionary aspirations set forth by the country’s leadership.
Emil Safarov, on his part, commended the commendable progress witnessed in bilateral relations over the past years, with particular emphasis on the consular domain. He reiterated Azerbaijan’s unwavering commitment to fostering greater cooperation and experience exchange with the UAE, with the ultimate objective of benefiting the citizens of both nations and further strengthening their bilateral ties. In this regard, he also extended his appreciation for the UAE’s outstanding digital services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as relevant authorities from Azerbaijan, signifying the shared commitment of both nations in consolidating their consular cooperation for the greater welfare of their citizens and the advancement of their bilateral relationship.
