On Wednesday, February 8, the UAE and Qatar announced the establishment of a bilateral transport system link.
The announcement was made at a meeting between representatives of the two countries in Abu Dhabi.

Officials discussed ways to enhance existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of policing and security, official news agency Wan reports.
During the meeting, the person in charge said that the transportation system linkage has been completed [was] Part of the GCC comprehensive project to exchange information, harmonize procedures and facilitate services.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi have launched several initiatives regarding their transport systems.
Last year, Digital Dubai partnered with Dubai Police to add a new service to the Vehicle and Safety Services section of its DubaiNow app, enabling customers to report minor traffic accidents on the app.

Abu Dhabi tops list of capitals with least traffic congestion in 2021 TomTom Traffic Index 416 cities in 57 countries were surveyed. The UAE capital leads the way in terms of comprehensive criteria, including traffic congestion rates at intersections and streets at different times of the day, including rush hour.
