In a tweet, Sheikh Mohamed said: “Today, we also approved the conditions for providing residency to retired foreigners, who can complete their stay with us in the UAE. We welcome everyone to our country.
This move will help support the UAE’s efforts to achieve flexibility in residency laws and visa requirements.
The Dubai Media Office outlined the amendment in a press release, stating that if retirees meet one of the following criteria, they will be eligible for retirement residency.
“The standard is: a single property worth 1 million dirhams or more than one property (assessed by relevant entities in each emirate), or a bank deposit of no less than 1 million dirhams, or no less than 1 million Active income of dirhams is 180,000 dirhams per year.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed also approved a number of other decisions, including tests for driverless transportation and medical care.

In addition, Sheikh Mohammed also approved a temporary license to test autonomous vehicles. This move is part of the government’s efforts to adopt and implement advanced technology in all sectors.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the UAE will become the first country in the Middle East and the second in the world to test autonomous vehicle applications.
The testing process will be conducted through RegLab under the supervision of the Securities and Commodities Administration.
