The Australia-based healthcare solutions provider has opened the first of six primary healthcare centres in Abu Dhabi.
Aspen Medical has launched a community primary care centre in Al Wathba after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) covering nine districts in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Hind Al Zaabi, executive director of the Ministry of Health’s Medical Facilities Department, said the department aims to ensure that all residents of the emirate have access to quality medical care.
“Residential Primary Care Centers are an essential lifeline, providing a vital link between specialty healthcare providers and remote communities, providing a range of preventive screening services and managing chronic and acute healthcare for their populations. We believe Aspen Medical’s new community medical centre will play an increasingly important role in the ongoing modernisation of the UAE’s healthcare system,” she noted.
The new community centre is designed to serve residents of the Al Wathba area and surrounding areas. Services include general and family medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, paediatrics and dentistry.
Aspen Medical has launched an initial network of six medical centres serving residents of nine districts in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, including Shakhbout City, Umm Ghaffa, Al Dhahra, Al Maleeh and Al Salamat.
The Ministry of Health has been working closely with healthcare providers in the emirate to implement its primary care model to make primary care services more accessible to all patients.
“Primary care puts patients at the forefront of the healthcare system, ensuring they have a longer-term, more accessible relationship with their family physician, focused on disease prevention, and as a health care need for all local residents. Over the past few years, Substantial investment has helped Abu Dhabi build a world-class healthcare sector, with advanced healthcare and research facilities to serve residents and improve patients’ access to quality healthcare,” said Al Zaabi.
Glenn Keys, Founder and Executive Chairman of Aspen Medical said: “We create environments that are comfortable and welcoming; we love to believe they will treat our own families well. We believe in being recognized for good work and we remain committed to going the extra mile spirit. These pillars will be the pillars of our new primary care centre as well as all our future centres in Abu Dhabi.”
Bruce Armstrong, Aspen Medical’s visiting group chief executive, said: “We believe in the mantra of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, who lived in Abu Dhabi and Al Nahyan. Growing up, I believe in providing accessible healthcare for all.”
The new primary healthcare network symbolizes Aspen Medical’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030 of creating a world-class healthcare system for all residents.
Vincent Shields, Regional General Manager, UAE and MENA, Aspen Medical, said: “We believe long-term relationships between patients and families are of the utmost importance. At our primary healthcare centre in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi and all our upcoming openings A healthcare center, we will use accessible, empathetic, and community-driven healthcare to earn the trust of our communities, provide exceptional care, and deliver exceptional patient satisfaction. Our goal is to be the social fabric of the communities and families we serve a part of.”
