Emirati business leader Dr Karen Remo was awarded the President’s Award, the Philippine government’s highest recognition for Filipino individuals and organisations overseas.
Dr. Remo, CEO and Managing Director of New Perspective Media Group and The Philippine Times, was selected from among 17 winners of the Pamanang Philippine Award (President’s Award, Philippine Heritage category).
Presented by Francisco Acosta, Secretary and Chairman of the Philippine Overseas Judicial Council, who is officially acting on behalf of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, this honor goes to Overseas Filipinos, “They embody Filipino talent and industry, bring honor to the nation and are recognized for excellence and excellence in the pursuit of their work or profession”.

A report by the Council of Overseas Filipinos (CFO) also praised Dr. Remo’s role in enriching economic and social relations between the UAE and the Philippines. “She has played such an important role in the media industry, fostering a positive relationship between the UAE and the Philippines.
