Abu Dhabi police have recovered the body of a 31-year-old Emirati man who drowned while swimming on Saturday night.
The body of Mohammed Aboud Al Kaabi, who drowned in the sea on Saturday night, has been missing since and was found on a beach on an island in Abu Dhabi.
In a statement released Monday afternoon, police said rescue operations had been searching since the Emiratis went missing.
According to the force, Al Kaabi had been on a cruise ship with friends to an island in Abu Dhabi. After arriving on the island, the group started sea activities at night, including swimming.
However, the group were shocked when they later noticed that Al Kaabi was missing. They immediately started looking for him and contacted Abu Dhabi Police, who took the necessary steps to find him.

“We are saddened by the news of the passing of my close friend Mohammad Abd Al Kaabi. May God have mercy on him,” a friend of Al Kaabi said in a local Arabic newspaper.
“The deceased was a good man, very friendly and of good morals. He respected everyone and had a good reputation in society. I pray that Allah forgive all his shortcomings, strengthen his family and grant them patience and comfort.”
