UAE – UAE fast bowlers Junaid Siddique and Akif Raja impressed with their skill and wicket in their inaugural match in the DP World International League T20.

Sharjah Warriors’ Siddiq, currently the second-highest wicket taker in the game with nine scalps, said he had made it difficult for MI Emirates captain Kieron Pollard to hit the ball.

“There are a lot of superstars in this tournament. DP World ILT20 is a great opportunity to learn different things. Pollard is a T20 legend and I’ve knocked him out a few times. Whenever I bowl with him, I always want to His batting became difficult,” Siddiq said.

The fast bowler, who hit his best bowling stats of two for four against Dubai Capitals in Sharjah on Thursday, added: “Naveen-ul-Haq and Chris Woakes shared their experiences with me. They Also shared tips with me and discussed with me how to bowl in difficult situations. The captain and coaching staff put their trust in my abilities and gave me a great opportunity to be a front line bowler for the Braves.”

Meanwhile, walker Akif Raja, who has taken six wickets in six matches at DP World ILT20, is enjoying every moment of the spotlight.

“The game was great for me. I enjoyed it. It was a really good feeling to lay off good hitters. I always try to put good hitters out. If I can field good hitters, I can Help my team win.”

Raja, who hit his best two-for-20 performance against the Abu Dhabi Knights, spoke about bowling in the UAE over the winter.

“In winter in the UAE, the ball fluctuates a lot. If you throw stumps to stumps, you get wickets. I try to get the batsman forward and try to get him stuck behind or LBW. I think I am a bowler myself. Our coach has given me the freedom to take wickets,” he said.
