Every company registered in the UAE will now automatically be part of the Caller ID mobile service offered by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).

It announced that every company or institution registered in the UAE automatically becomes part of the Kashif scheme. This enables the call recipient to identify the caller and allows a decision on whether to respond. From mid-2021, TDRA has gradually launched this initiative in cooperation with service providers as part of improving customer satisfaction and well-being of Etisalat Telecom services, which is expected to have an impact in the future by reducing unnecessary calls.

TDRA said it has established regulations and enforcement procedures related to this feature, which is part of the development of the system to enhance the trust of customers in the telecommunications industry, especially the calls received from many private sector companies, reduce the anonymity of telecommunications users Phone dissatisfaction. Today, customers can recognize the name of the caller, whether the call is from a mobile or landline.

Initially, TDRA applied this capability to numbers in the banking industry and later expanded to other industries such as health, hospitality, education, etc. This feature applies to all private sector company numbers in 2022, including fixed and mobile numbers registered in the name of a private sector company.

TDRA confirms that “Kashif” is considered as the first line of the caller’s identity, however, due to the existence of this feature, customers must follow the instructions of the relevant authorities and not disclose personal information such as account numbers, passwords, identifiers, and others.
