The organizers of the annual breast cancer awareness event, The Pink Caravan Ride, are calling on all horse riders in the UAE who would like to take part in the 11th annual national ride to sign up.
The ride starts on 4th February, to coincide with World Cancer Day, and will pass through all seven emirates and conclude on 10th February.
The committee noted that the annual gathering of the public and communities across the country has made the pan-UAE campaign organized by the Sharjah civil society organization Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) a huge success over the past few years and an enjoyable and important event on the calendar highlights.
The committee also commented that the annual ride is a real example of how all segments of society, including government agencies and institutions, can come together to raise awareness of the importance of early detection, help fight cancer, and promote of healthy lifestyle.
All riders wishing to volunteer must be at least 16 years old and possess sufficient equestrian skill and experience.
With the seven-day national tour covering approximately 20 kilometers per day, riders will need to pass a skill and proficiency test to ensure they are fit to participate.
The event is open to both male and female riders and those interested in participating in the 11th Pink Caravan ride will need to register online at www.focp.ae/rider-registration and be part of 100 riders across the seven emirates.
