UAE Chamber of Commerce plays vital role in national development: Al Sayegh

Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh visited the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to discuss how to promote the contribution of the private sector to the country’s economic development.

During his visit, the minister emphasized that all chambers of commerce in the UAE can play an important role in increasing the private sector’s contribution to the national economy, stressing the need to link their priorities with the UAE’s strategy for national economic growth and sustainability.

Al Sayegh was received at SCCI Headquarters by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Government Relations Department, Saeed Bin Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Affairs, and Mohammad Ai, Minister of Economic and Trade Cooperation and Director General of SCCI His Excellency Hamed Amin, and various staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Discussions covered ways to attract more foreign direct investment into the UAE, as well as the possibility of opening new markets to facilitate various investment opportunities in the UAE, while enhancing cooperation with the country’s diplomatic missions abroad. Al Sayegh commended SCCI for its tireless efforts and milestone achievements, which have given the national economy a wealth of expertise and programmes to develop an enabling business environment that supports the realization of the UAE’s strategy aimed at achieving sustainable economic development.

He noted that due to its successful business model, the UAE has become a global trade and investment hub, leading in many competitiveness, trade and investment indicators.

Al Sayegh reiterated that the private sector has been and will continue to be a major player in the national economy and that the country’s chambers of commerce and industry should better participate in the development of the national economy, while encouraging state-owned enterprises to expand their operations. Local and foreign.

“The Chamber of Commerce and Industry can also benefit from the UAE’s expanding capabilities and growing economic and diplomatic relations to improve cooperation with different countries that are seen as the UAE’s strategic target market for attracting foreign investment. The country has a vibrant and prosperous economic and business environment. , modern infrastructure and effective economic legislation can easily attract foreign direct investment,” the minister said.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais welcomed the Minister and his accompanying delegation to visit the Chamber, expressing his appreciation for the visit, which will inspire the Chamber to develop programs and initiatives that support the business sector and enrich the emirate’s investment climate.
