Due to the Marburg virus outbreak, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAICUAE) has issued a travel advisory for citizens and advises against travel to Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania.
The ministry urged citizens on Twitter to postpone travel to the two African countries for their own safety.
The ministry has called on citizens residing or visiting in the two countries to take precautionary measures and follow safety instructions issued by the competent authorities.
The World Health Organization (WHO) earlier said Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania were facing outbreaks of Marburg virus, a highly contagious and deadly disease similar to Ebola, after at least nine people died. \
