Foreign Ministry calls on Israeli authorities to stop escalation and refrain from taking measures to increase tension and instability in the region

The UAE strongly condemns an Israeli government member, member of parliament and extremists storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli police.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Mofaic) reiterated its firm position on the need for full protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque and an end to serious and provocative violations in it.

The ministry stressed the need to respect the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan over the Holy Land and the Endowment Fund in accordance with international law and the current historical situation, not to compromise the authority of the Jerusalem Endowment Fund Authority and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The ministry called on the Israeli authorities to stop escalation and refrain from taking measures to increase tension and instability in the region, stressing that the UAE rejects all practices that violate resolutions of international legitimacy and threaten further escalation.

In addition, the Ministry emphasized the need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the Middle East peace process, end illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution, and establish an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
