On Friday, he provided 12.2 inches of hair to a “hair bank” group in Kerala.

KC Mazin, an Indian expatriate living in Abu Dhabi, donated hair to cancer patients for a year after fighting back-to-back with Covid-19 infection. On Friday, he provided 12.2 inches of hair to a “hair bank” group in Kerala.

Mazin is a 34-year-old Kerala. He was shot by Covid very early, turned positive on April 29, 2020, and then turned positive again on June 2. ), where he found a new tendency in life.

“I am engaged in social media marketing,” he said by phone from Kerala. “I keep meeting people. But when I tested positive for the second time, I panicked. Like June, I was still recovering from the health problems of the first infection. So, it was surreal. I locked myself in the room. But then I got a high fever, started to tremble, and my cough got worse and made me breathless. I was frightened. I worked at VPS Healthcare before. I called Burj Medical City. An ambulance took me to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was told that if I delay seeking treatment, it will be life-threatening.”

Mazin was isolated and treated at BMC, which also specializes in oncology. Mazin was moved by regular promotional videos about cancer patients and their plights broadcast in the ward.

“Those videos stirred my conscience,” he said. “I was surprised by the courage and resilience of cancer survivors. The memories of friends who were survivors flooded in. A strong impulse attracted me. I asked my doctors and nurses for more information about cancer patients. After hearing the inspiring stories of survivors, I vowed that I would donate my hair to make wigs for those who are fighting cancer. Maybe this belief makes me more energetic and able to recover as soon as possible. God has always been Kind. He answered my prayers. I got better soon and was discharged from the hospital.”

Mazin will start growing her hair in the last week of June 2020. He returned to his hometown of Malapuram in Kerala in February and was trapped there. Although his original plan was to donate hair in Abu Dhabi, he saw compelling reasons in Kerala.

“I think hair donations have decreased during the pandemic,” Mazin explained. “In addition, because of fear, many associations do not accept hair. I realized that Kerala needs my locks more. On August 6, I donated to the charity association hairbank.in. I am very happy. During the fight against Covid , I discovered a new trend in life. I understand the pain of cancer patients. I thank BMC for its cancer awareness initiative. I hope my behavior can encourage others,” Majin said, and he will return to Abu Dhabi soon.
