On September 30, 2022, following the recent torrential rains in southern and eastern Mauritania, the UAE dispatched a plane carrying food to various cities and villages affected by the heavy rains.

Food supply will meet the basic needs of thousands of households, especially the elderly, women and children.

Hamad Ghanem Al Mehairi, UAE Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, said: “The provision of these supplies reflects the strong relationship between the two countries and underlines the UAE’s humanitarian role in providing relief to those in need and those affected by threatened disasters. .food safety.”

He noted that the UAE continues to support aid to Mauritania, including the delivery of food and medical supplies in April 2021, as well as 3 medical aid planes to support the country’s efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
