The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has begun deporting Pakistani jobseekers on visit visas, with more than 1,000 deported last month.
Over the course of a month, the UAE has deported more than 1,000 Pakistanis on visitor visas who were looking for work, the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA) said.

POEPA also wrote to Sajid Hussain Turi, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, on this issue. The UAE has tightened immigration policies after Pakistanis abused visit visas, according to media reports.
The letter from POEPA chairman Syed Rehmat Ali Shah also highlighted that passports issued by 20 cities in Pakistan were denied applications for visit visas. Mandi Bahauddin and Attock were among the 20 cities that were denied visit visas.
The UAE also imposes conditions on the presentation of AED 5,000 and a six-month bank statement in order to obtain a visit visa.

The letter also states that fake agents have taken hundreds of thousands of rupees from innocent people for sending them to the UAE on visit visas, urging the government to take stern action against these agents. It was also said that people who came to the UAE on visit visas could not find work and were forced to beg because of a lack of documentation.
It was also pointed out that the reputation of professional agents was damaged due to fraudulent agents.
POEPA secretary Shahzaib Khan has said that people have been trying to find easy ways to find work.
