The UAE Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of a director of a private company on charges of falsifying the employment status of more than 40 citizens.

Earlier, the UAE Attorney-General issued a warning over fake recruitment by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. An immediate investigation established that the director, with the help of some of his employees, had fictitiously employed more than 40 Emiratis.

In addition, the director was found to have falsified electronic documents and issued fictitious job contracts, falsely claiming that his company employed citizens for the purpose of obtaining benefits and financial support from Nafis or Emirates schemes.

The ministry has stepped up checks to monitor fake emiratization across the country. Administrative penalties and fines of up to Dh100,000 per Emiratis can be imposed on companies attempting to take advantage of the Nafis scheme if the bogus Emiratisation is proven.

The Attorney-General has called on the relevant officials of private sector companies to take responsibility for ensuring that the UAE’s Emiratization rules are followed and the right practices are followed.
