UAE distributes 40,000 meals in Medina in memory of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Khalifa

UAE Hajj Mission distributes 40,000 meals to pilgrims in Medina, Saudi Arabia in memory of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hayan.

In a statement issued this week, Dr. Mohammed Matar al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Directorate of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf) and Head of the UAE Hajj Mission, said that the delivery and storage of meals is overseen by a special committee responsible for the selection of meals for the official Hajj. Task. The meal chosen is beneficial to the pilgrims and will help them to exert the required effort while performing the Hajj ritual.

“Driven by the Mission’s role of caring for pilgrims and the UAE’s wise leadership aspirations, which pay special attention to pilgrims from the UAE and go to great lengths to provide them with all kinds of help and care, the Mission strives to ensure that meals are delivered to all Hajj pilgrims. pilgrims without any hassle or crowds, with a distribution method that covers all the areas where the pilgrims are,” Dr Al Kaabi said.

He praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to provide convenience and comfort for pilgrims during the Hajj. He said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been successful in welcoming millions of pilgrims warmly and providing them with comprehensive care services during the annual pilgrimage season.

Several pilgrims who benefited from the meal expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the UAE, emphasizing that the country is a model for humanity around the world with its programmes and projects aimed at the happiness of people all over the world.

This year Saudi Arabia announced it would allow 1 million Muslims to perform the annual Hajj, and the number of permits for UAE residents has increased significantly compared to the past two years due to restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, July 7, pilgrims moved to a huge tent city in Mina, about 5 kilometers from the mosque in Mecca, ahead of the main ceremony of the Prophet Muhammad on Mount Arafat.

Saudi authorities have launched a massive operation to ensure the health and safety of all pilgrims.
