Abu Dhabi: Priests from different religions participated in an Iftar dinner hosted by the Department of Community Development (DCD) at the Abraham Family House in Abu Dhabi.
DCD Chairman Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili attended the Iftar ceremony along with 45 delegates from licensed houses of worship in Abu Dhabi.
As the regulator for places of worship in Abu Dhabi, the DCD works to enhance cultural and intellectual diversity and uphold values ​​such as tolerance among communities.
Breaking the fast with the clergy reflects solidarity among all sectors of society, the DCD said. By participating, they were able to experience an important aspect of Ramadan and learn more about Emirati culture.
Abu Dhabi is home to many different nationalities and the DCD says its role is to bring harmony among them, in line with its vision of providing a quality of life for all members of society.
