UAE drone strike: India provides aid to families of two Indians killed in UAE: special envoy

India said it would provide “all assistance” possible to the families of the two Indian citizens. Houthi drone attack near Abu Dhabi Airport This sparked multiple explosions in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Houthi rebels launched an attack in Yemen on Monday, killing two Indians and a Pakistani national and wounding six others.

The explosions were caused by “small flying objects” (possibly drones) hitting three oil tankers in Abu Dhabi.

India’s ambassador to India said in an interview with The Nation on Monday United Arab Emirates, Sanjay SudirThe Indian government will provide “all possible assistance” to the families of the two deceased Indian citizens, he said.

The Indian embassy has not announced the names of the two Indians killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, messages of condemnation and solidarity flooded in from all quarters a day after the drone attack.

Crown Prince Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman called Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The Saudi crown prince expressed his deepest condolences to the dead and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry also condemned the attack in “the strongest terms”.

The UAE reserves the right to respond to these terrorist attacks and escalation of crime,” said a statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said drone strikes against Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) fuel facilities and airports will not go unpunished.

The UAE has been part of a Saudi-led military campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen since 2015.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also received a call from Jordan’s King Abdullah, in which he condemned Houthi attacks on facilities and civilian areas in the UAE.

The King affirmed Jordan’s support for the security threats faced by the UAE and offered his condolences.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also called Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to affirm the U.S. condemnation and condemnation of terrorist attacks by terrorist Houthi militias on civilian areas and installations in the UAE.
