The UAE Meteorological Department issued red and yellow alerts, warning residents of heavy fog on Saturday morning. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), visibility will drop to less than 1,000 meters between 01:00 and 09:00 on Saturday, with parts of the coast and inland areas seeing further drops at times.
The weather will remain clear to partly cloudy with the potential for some convective clouds to the east and associated with afternoon rain.
Several areas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will see heavy fog. The MET department is also forecasting fog in Sharjah and Ajman, as well as UAE roads to Umm Al Quwain. Motorists are being urged to drive with caution and to obey the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards in some areas.
In the past two days, heavy rainfall has occurred in many parts of the country. Sharjah was hit by rain and hail on Friday.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), rain and hail were seen in the Maleiha and Hamdah areas on Monday night. Other areas that saw rain and hail on Friday included Khor Fakkan to Al Dhaid Road, Wishah and some other eastern areas.
Heavy rains caused flooding in parts of the country on Thursday. Hailstones hit vehicles as they became stranded on a flooded road.
Temperatures will hover around 31C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Saturday. It will be very humid in the evening and Sunday morning. Light to moderate wind, sometimes refreshing with cloudiness. The sea will be slightly on the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman.
