Flights from the UAE to many destinations are sold out ahead of the Eid holidays.

Travel agencies say the busiest travel during the Islamic festival is outbound traffic to Muslim countries as residents return to their home countries to celebrate Eid. But this year, due to the pleasant weather, many people traveled to the UAE to experience Eid.

Avinash Adnani, managing director of Pluto Travels, said that destinations such as Egypt, Pakistan and the Indian state of Kerala were mostly sold out on the eve of Eid because a large number of UAE residents from these Muslim areas traveled to People in their home countries celebrate this festival with their families.

From Thursday, UAE residents may have four or five days of Eid al-Fitr holiday, depending on the moon landing.

With strong inbound and outbound revenge tourism, people looking for a five-day holiday tend to fly to short-haul destinations for a break, Adnani added.

“That’s why Emirates is increasing its flights to Muslim countries in the GCC and the Middle East during Eid,” he said.

Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, announced on Tuesday that 38 additional flights Fly to various destinations in the region during Eid including Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Kuwait and Beirut. More than 110,000 passengers are expected to board Emirates flights in the region during the upcoming Eid festival.

Adnani added that people prefer Eastern European destinations over London and other long-haul flights, which have a three-hour flight during Eid. As a result, local budget airlines have increased their flights to these destinations to accommodate peak periods.

Atish Thapa, Cleartrip’s head of business and marketing, said inbound tourism has increased significantly due to the favorable weather during Ramadan and Eid.

“Combined with a long weekend, we saw an increase in inbound traffic from India to the UAE. Fortunately, there has not been a huge increase in airfares for passengers traveling to the UAE compared to the increase in airfare for outbound travel,” he said.

Leisure travel, which reaches destinations within 3-5 hours, is picking up, including in post-earthquake Turkey, he said.

“The caucus and the GCC countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are very popular. In fact, Saudi Arabia is outperforming some destinations because visa rules have been eased because visas can be obtained in just a few hours,” Ta Pa said.

Daryll Diagro, Marketing Manager, Leva Hotels Favorable weather, the number of tourist attractions and relaxed travel restrictions have made Dubai one of the most sought-after destinations for tourists from GCC countries.

“We are receiving bookings from neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and expect more people to stay during Eid. While holidaying at home has been the top choice for UAE residents for the past 3 years, this year we are witnessing the trend changes. With foreign countries now open for travel, UAE residents are choosing to travel to international destinations through local accommodation. People are opting to go to nearby places like Georgia and Armenia for long weekends,” said Diagro.
