The authorities announced today that from 1 November 2022, UAE nationals holding ordinary passports will be able to enter Japan without a visa.

It was announced earlier that UAE citizens will be exempted from visa requirements to enter Japan. This comes as the UAE and Japan sign a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Japan recently announced that it had finally lifted Covid restrictions on foreign tourists, reopening its borders after two and a half years.
The East Asian country had earlier suspended visa waivers “until further notice” – but as it began to ease travel rules, travelers from multiple countries have been granted visa waivers.
The UAE-Japan comprehensive partnership was launched by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
