Emirates’ total medal tally is impressive, with three, two gold and one bronze
UAE team UAE star Yusuf Mirza won a second gold medal for the UAE national team at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in the Turkish city of Konya on the Kon track.
Mirza, the first Emiratis to compete on the UCI World Tour, continued the UAE’s strong Olympic performance with 38 points in the points category in track and field. Teammate Ahmed Al-Mansoori took the bronze in the same category with 16 points, while Iranian Behnam Arian took the silver.
By the end of the third day, the UAE had an impressive medal total of three, two golds and one bronze, all by cycling. Teammate Ahmed Al-Mansoori impressed on the opening day earlier after winning gold in the Scratch event.

The Islamic Solidarity Games is a multi-national, multi-sport event involving athletes from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participating in multiple sports. First held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 2005, the Games are held every four years and will feature 54 teams in 2022.
