UAE flights: Special envoy says that Indian embassy is working with authorities to resolve vaccination issues-News

Currently, Etihad Airways requires fully vaccinated residents to provide proof that they have received two doses of the vaccine in the UAE.

A senior envoy said that the Indian Embassy is working closely with the UAE authorities to address the concerns of trapped Indian residents.

Due to the uncertainty about whether the stranded residents who were vaccinated in India can return, India’s Ambassador to the UAE Pavan Kapoor assured that positive measures have been taken to resolve such problems.

“Return of residents started about 10 days ago. Although it currently applies to people vaccinated in the UAE, we are working closely with the UAE authorities to expand this scope. We hope that other categories will also return as soon as possible,” he said in the 75th session. Said in a speech delivered on India’s Independence Day.

Although a Covid-19 vaccination certificate is not a necessary condition for flying to Dubai, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways requires a UAE resident who has been vaccinated to provide two vaccinations in the UAE at least 14 days before travel. Proof of a vaccine.

“The Dubai authorities have extended the visas of those who have expired during their stay in India. We hope the Abu Dhabi authorities will follow suit as soon as possible. We hope that more residents will be able to return to their second home,” he held in the embassy auditorium Said at the ceremony.

Kapoor also added that the mission is trying to support and empower people who lost their jobs during the pandemic and had to go home.

The ambassador added: “We are trying to understand how we can improve and retrain the skills of our employees and see that they can bring other types of opportunities.”
