Sao Paulo – The united arab emirates It hopes to boost its industry in areas such as energy, aviation, telecommunications, healthcare, and food and beverages. The Make it in the Emirates Forum, a forum on the topic, will be held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (31st) and Thursday (1st), and the UAE Consulate General in São Paulo said the forum was aimed at attracting Brazilian participants.
The Make it in the Emirates Forum is organized by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The presence of Brazilian companies will hopefully allow them to understand the benefits of setting up factories in Arab countries and manufacturing locally.
On the event’s website, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Al Jaber said the forum’s objectives are to safeguard national progress, leverage competitive advantage, attract investment in the industrial sector, support local manufacturing and create opportunities for growth. “Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the capabilities of our national economy and increase the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP to over AED300 billion [USD 81 billion] by 2031,” he said.
The forum is expected to bring together major companies in the UAE and serve as a space to share acquisition plans and investment opportunities. The organizers said the companies sought to build relationships with prominent domestic and international companies interested in investing in manufacturing in the UAE. In 2022, 1,800 people participated, resulting in AED110 billion (US$30 billion) in potential purchase agreements and more than 30 agreements.
In addition to major companies, representatives of governments, financial institutions, SMEs and investors are also expected to attend. The program includes a symposium, an awards ceremony and an exhibition. MoIAT hosts the Make it in the Emirates Awards to highlight excellence and innovation in the industrial sector. Winners will be announced at a ceremony during the Forum.
The program runs from 8am to 5pm on two days at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre.
