On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness on March 20, residents of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah will receive free public bus services.
As part of its plan to encourage public transport, the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and the in-house public transport service operator, Arabian Bus Company, have launched a “Free Transport” initiative for all public bus users in Ras Al Khaimah.
It is worth noting that the public bus service covers four main routes in the emirate, namely the red route, blue route, green route and purple route. These routes include stops in both directions, covering different geographical and important areas of Ras Al Khaimah, providing a safe and integrated transportation network that contributes to smooth flow of sustainable mobility for all.
Eng Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAKTA, explained that the Authority has introduced several initiatives to encourage residents and tourists of Ras Al Khaimah to use public transport for their daily travel and commuting, which is ideal to reach their different destinations .
He added that RAKTA is keen to encourage the public to use mass transport by launching the “Free Transport” initiative on public buses, which coincides with the International Day of Happiness.
