Ninety percent of education sector staff have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
The UAE authorities have announced free Covid-19 PCR testing for vaccinated students and education department employees.
The National Crisis and Emergency Management Agency (NCEMA) stated on Tuesday, September 7 that students, administrative, academic, and technical staff can get a free PCR test every 30 days.
Students and faculty in public schools must undergo PCR tests on a regular basis. Students 12 years and older who are not vaccinated against Covid-19 need to undergo PCR tests every week for face-to-face learning. Students 12 years of age and older who have been vaccinated; children under 12 years of age who have not been vaccinated need to be vaccinated once a month.
However, these agreements only apply to students enrolled in public schools. The Ministry of Education (MoE) has authorized the education regulator in each emirate to develop its own back-to-school Covid agreement.
90% of education sector staff are vaccinated
According to the latest statistics, nearly 90% of educators have received injections. Approximately 36% of students received the coronavirus vaccine.
NCEMA also stated that according to a recent survey conducted by it, more than 73% of parents in the UAE want their children to return to face-to-face classrooms.
Since classes resumed last week, the authorities have witnessed a significant increase in the number of students returning to school.
