UAE residents and citizens will receive free medical care in a new initiative called Zayed of Mercy to mark the country’s Humanitarian Day.

Departing from Abu Dhabi today, the caravan will travel to all seven emirates.

Launched under the slogan “Don’t let them worry”, the initiative started with dedicated health volunteers and extensive participation from Emirati doctors. It aims to provide free medical care and awareness to those in need in a humanitarian gesture.

It was launched in coordination with the UAE Young Humanitarian Leaders Programme, and in coordination with the UAE Volunteering Platform and Programme.

Zayed Humanitarian Day, commemorated every year on the 19th of Ramadan, represents the noble and deep-rooted human values ​​left by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Dr Adel Al Shamri, CEO of Zayed Giving Initiative, President of Emirates Giving and President of Emirates Doctors, said the initiative aims to engage young people and enable them to use these mobile clinics and field hospitals to provide the best health and education services in a voluntary framework Down.

He added that the convoys are a continuation of the Zayed Donation Initiative launched in 2000. The initiative has been able to send a message of love and giving to millions of people around the world.

He emphasized that giving in the UAE is not just an attribute, but a consistent and ongoing approach, guided by wise leadership, which has become a priority at all levels.

Al Shamri also said that the UAE Community and Professional Volunteering Program aims to strengthen the culture of volunteer work and humanitarian giving, while activating partnerships between various governments and the private sector.

The “Zayed of Mercy” caravan focuses on two main issues. One is to strengthen the role of social responsibility, and the other is to establish a good concept in all sectors of society.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Dr Noura Al Kindi, one of the young Emirati humanitarian leaders, said the caravan will feature hundreds of outstanding volunteer activities and other comprehensive health awareness programmes, which will have Help support and promote volunteerism and community values.

She added that the convoy will visit various residential areas across the country, as well as centers for the elderly and people of determination, labor camps, sports and business gatherings and government agencies.

Al Kindi said the caravan met with tangible interactions in Abu Dhabi today and witnessed a grand reception and attendance.
