Now, starling Juji can say “Bonjour”.
The French ambassador to Abu Dhabit provided a new home for the pet bird of an Afghan girl, which is a heartwarming act of kindness.
A girl named Alia who was evacuated from Kabul after the Taliban took over was travelling to France via Abu Dhabi, but her little starling was not allowed to board the plane.
So Xavier Chatel, the French ambassador to the UAE, brought Alia’s pet to his mansion. After some training, Starling can now say “Bonjour”.
Chartre shared his inspiring story of caring for the bird on Twitter.
There is a story I want to tell for a long time. During an evacuation operation in Afghanistan, a girl came to Al Dhafra Air Force Base with an unusual property. She was exhausted: a bird. She fought all the way at the Kabul airport, carrying that precious little thing.

When Alia was crying silently, Chartres was moved because for “sanitary reasons” the bird was not allowed to board the plane to France. The messenger promised the girl that he would take care of the bird, and she could visit at any time and take him back. “I will not forget her desperate gratitude.”

During the large-scale evacuation, France flew nearly 3,000 people from Kabul, including more than 2,600 Afghans.
“During the two weeks at the base, I slept for two or three hours a day, and the evacuation organization was too nervous. During a dizzy episode, I took Juji (the bird) to the French residence.”
But for the ambassador, going home is not easy, because Starling escaped from his box and “made a mess” in the car.
“He hid under his seat, motionless. When I tried to persuade him to come back, the fierce little guy told me that if he survived the Kabul airport, I would not be an opponent.
“So, I bought him a beautiful cage, fed him, and took him out in the cool morning so he could see other birds. He now has a girlfriend—one who visits him every day The pigeon. So he relaxed and started to say some mysterious words in a language that we didn’t understand at night.
Chatel spends a few minutes every day teaching Juji some French words, starting with “Bonjour”.
“But the problem is: Juji doesn’t like men. He frowned and looked at me angrily, while he giggled at women. I continued to try my daily’Bonjour’ desperately-but he certainly didn’t Will listen.”
One day, the female manager of the French mansion sent him a video recording the moment when Che Ji said “Bonjour”. Chartre pointed out that this instance went directly to his heart.
On Tuesday, Alia found Chatel on Twitter and was happy to know that her bird was handled properly.
“She wants me to teach him French. Aaliyah, your bird has become the mascot of the embassy, but it is for you. If possible, I will take it to see you myself one day.” Added.
