The daily cuppa will be discussed at the Global Dubai Tea Forum, DMCC will host its 8th edition in Dubai from April 25th to 27th this year on the theme of “Unlocking the Future of Tea: From Consumer Trends to New Market Opportunities”.

Today, tea is one of the most widely traded commodities, worth close to $50 billion, according to an organizer statement reported by the Emirates News Agency, Wam. “Surprisingly, this number is expected to grow by more than 40% this decade, driven by a number of growth factors, not least a new generation of consumers turning to tea,” the statement said.

It added that global demand was rising across the board, calling for a greater variety of options, including new flavors of tea and specialty products. As such, the tea industry is realizing a plethora of opportunities.

As one of the most important conferences on the international tea industry calendar, the Global Dubai Tea Forum will bring together industry stakeholders from across the globe, including tea producers, suppliers, buyers and governments, to explore, discuss and address a range of topics, statement added.

From major trends such as a new generation of consumers valuing tea’s rich diversity, cultural history and lifestyle benefits, to major challenges such as supply chain constraints, inflation, climate change, advanced technology and the push for greater sustainability, the conference will ultimately address How the tea industry can make the most of current opportunities and address challenges within the industry to drive global growth.

Since its inception in 2022, the DMCC Tea Center has continued to grow, handling more than 33.902 billion kilograms of tea last year alone. The Center’s services have proven invaluable to the tea value chain as they enable the industry to capitalize on the growing demand for specialty and premium teas while ensuring quality and consistency.
