UAE Golden Visa: Expanding long-term residence qualifications-News

The Golden Visa allows foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without a national guarantor.

A series of UAE visa reforms were announced on Sunday, and the government launched 13 of the 50 projects that will be launched this month.

As part of the “Top 50 Project”, the entry and residence system has been upgraded to confirm the UAE’s status as an ideal destination for work, investment, entrepreneurship, education and life.

A new regulation expands the qualifications for the Golden Visa to include managers, chief executives, science, engineering, health, education, business management, and technical experts. In addition, the procedures for obtaining long-term residency for highly skilled and professional residents, investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, pioneers, leading students and graduates have been simplified.

The Golden Visa allows foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without a national guarantor. These visas are issued for five or ten years and are automatically renewed.

Housing reform

Other regulatory changes announced on Sunday include:

>> The travel permit was extended from three months to six months.

>> Parent guarantee under the immediate family visa.

>> The stay for humanitarian cases is extended for one year.

>> The age limit for children’s parents to live has been extended from 18 to 25 years old.

>> Extension of the grace period for exit 30 days to 90-180 days after unemployment or retirement.

Green visa, freelance visa

The UAE government also announced a green visa, expanding self-occupation status to investors, entrepreneurs, highly skilled individuals, top students and graduates.

It also announced the provision of federal freelancer visas for self-employed individuals in professional fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital currency in the UAE and overseas.

The UAE Government Media Office stated in a statement: “These measures are aimed at improving the competitiveness and flexibility of the UAE labor market, promoting industry growth, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development, and creating greater stability and security for residents. .”
