Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra region and chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), ordered AED 20 million for Ramadan programs in Syria.
He also directed the ERC to provide the best services to Syrians and meet their needs during Ramadan, especially in areas affected by the recent earthquake.
The ERC drew up an emergency plan to implement Sheikh Hamdan’s directives and completed preparations to meet the needs of Syrians during the holy month, in line with the wishes of the UAE leadership.
Dr Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the ERC Board of Directors, said Sheikh Hamdan’s directive was due to his passion to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria and alleviate the suffering of Syrians.
He added that the ERC had drawn up a detailed plan in coordination with the country’s embassy in Damascus and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to expand the database of beneficiaries of its Ramadan projects in Syria.
He further added that the ERC will make every effort to implement its Ramadan program in line with the noble values ​​of the holy month.
